To witness Dalia Stasevska in concert is to experience pure magic. “Endowed with a magnetic aura, she almost seems to have bewitched her musicians who follow her elegant and precise gestures to the letter. Masterful and electric, we see her come alive with her whole body, right down to her heels which literally take off from the ground, propelled by a sublime force” (Cult Magazine).
She returns to the Bowl to capture the lively and syncopated spirit of Argentinian cowboys in Ginastera’s Malambo and treats audiences to two instantly recognizable genre-blending works. Dvořák’s widely adored “New World” Symphony fuses African American spirituals with Indigenous ritual music, while Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue intertwines the glamourous elements of jazz and classical music.
Piano sensation Hayato Sumino makes his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut, following his viral performance of the Rhapsody at the Royal Albert Hall in 2024 where he surprised audiences with a melodica solo and an impromptu musical response to cellphone going off mid-performance.
